How to find your iCalendar Feed

The iCalendar feed is a link that lets other programs (like Bookwhen) look at the events on your calendar. Some of the calendars refer to it as 'Calendar Sharing'. Bookwhen needs to know the link so it can know what things you want people to book.

Google Calendar

Your Google Calendar should be available here: http://calendar.google.com

Follow these steps to find the link to your feed:

  1. Click on the 'Settings' link in the top right to access the calendar settings screen.
  2. Click the 'Calendars' tab in the settings section (next to the 'General' tab).
  3. Click on the name of your calendar in the list of 'My Calendars' in the main Calendar Settings area. This will show the details just for that calendar.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the 'Private Address' section.
  5. Click the green ICAL button. The link that pops up is your iCalendar feed.
  6. Copy and paste this link into the field below.

Note: You can also use the public feed, but if you do, then remember to check the 'Make this calendar public' option on the 'Share this calendar' tab, and ensure that the 'Share only my free/busy information' is unchecked.

Yahoo Calendar BETA

Note: Yahoo have only recently created a 'proper' online calendar. It's likely that you still have the old version. Bookwhen will only work with the new 'Beta' version. To upgrade to the new version follow this link: http://switch.calendar.yahoo.com

Your Yahoo Calendar should be available here: http://calendar.yahoo.com.

Follow these steps to find the link to your feed:

  1. Click on the small 'Share Calendar' link in the top right next to 'Options'.
  2. Ensure that the drop-down in the middle of the screen is correct if you have more than one calendar.
  3. Click on the 'Other Ways to Share' link on the right. This will reveal more options.
  4. The link in the middle section titled '.ICS Link' is your iCalendar feed.
  5. Copy and paste this link into the field below.

Windows Live Calendar

Your Windows Live Calendar should be available here: http://calendar.live.com

Follow these steps to find the link to your feed:

  1. Click on the 'Share' link above the calendar in the middle next to the printer icon.
  2. Pick the calendar that you want to use for Bookwhen (if you have more than one).
  3. On the 'Sharing settings' page, select the 'Share this calendar' option. More options will appear.
  4. Check the 'Send friends a view-only link to your calendar' box to reveal yet more options.
  5. Click the middle link (ICS: Import into another calendar application) of the 'If you want people to see all the details..' section.
  6. Copy and paste the link that pops up into the field below.

30Boxes Calendar

Your 30Boxes Calendar should be available here: http://30boxes.com

Follow these steps to find the link to your feed:

  1. Hover your mouse over the 'SHARE' link in the top left.
  2. At the bottom of the menu that pops up are 5 icons.
  3. Right-click first icon ('iCal Subscription') and select 'Copy Link', or 'Copy Link Location', or whatever words your browser uses.
  4. Paste the link into the field below.
