Hi James,
Currently, only individual events can be added directly in the system. To add recurring events you you have to do it in a calendar and then attach the calendar to bookwhen.
However, this is a feature that's been requested before so it's high up on the list of new features and should be in by the end of the month. Thanks for the question.

I have a similar question, I've setup the recurring event in the external calendar. Some of my clients have weekly appointments at the same time, will they have to go in and book each week?

Brian,
Clients will have to book each appointment separately. There is no way for them to make a recurring booking. Having said that though, once a client has booked one appointment, their details are then automatically entered on the booking form (during that browser session) making it a simple process to make multiple bookings. I hope that's ok.
Unrelated, but in response to my previous post, the entry of recurring events within bookwhen is due in the next two days. Thanks to all those who have been waiting for this. An announcement will be made on the twitter feed (twitter.com/bookwhen).

Great thanks!
If I add them to the booking, do it show up in there account?

I'm not sure if I understand the question. If you want to make a booking on behalf of a client then it's best if you enter their email address so that they receive the email with a link to their booking information. You can confirm the booking manually as the admin by following the 'booking ref' link on the bookings admin page.
The client's booking information contains links to their other bookings.
