I agree with one of the other users... I'd like my potential guests to be able to make a single or group booking and pay immediately rather than splitting the process between the booking confirmation and the actual payment

Thanks
Xav

Hi Xav. Thanks for the feedback.

I concede that this area of the system needs improvement. I'm working on the grouping of payments across events, so will also bear in mind your comments. It will involve a bit of a redesign rather than a quick fix though so I can't promise anything until the new year. It's important to get it right.

Thanks again and let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Jo,

I pulled the below correspondence from a previous thread for continuity - I’d originally asked 2 unrelated questions in the same e-mail.

Has there been any update on forcing clients to book and pay immediately, without having to confirm the booking first and then making the payment later?

Also, is there any chance you can set up the system so that clients can book and pay for more than one person within the original booking rather than having to confirm the first booking, then adding additional people later?

Do you have a time frame for when the above might be implemented? I’d like to go live with it, but in its current form, it doesn’t work for my clients.

Thanks
Xav

Xav, Hi. Thanks for getting back to me.

The first task for the new year is to complete the improvements to the payment aspect of the system. Single payments across events/slots, and enforced immediate payments will be included in this set of changes. Hopefully they will be complete by the end of the week. I'll let you know when.

    Hi Xav,
You beat me to the mail... I was going to mail you in the morning about it.
Unfortunately the changes have been delayed by the snow - due to two
    days without childcare!
I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the day tomorrow. I'll mail
    when it's done.
Sorry it's taking longer than expected.
    Cheers, Jo.

    Ok, thanks Jo.

I was going to e-mail you in the morning also, but happened to be working
late and decided to request a quick update.

I announced the event yesterday and had to use another vendor, but I prefer
bookwhen. As soon as you have something, let me know so I can start
    testing.

    Cheers
    Xav

I'm looking forward to this improvement too. I'm holding off on listing an event for late Jan as long as I can .

Double apologies for the delay guys. 2010 started slow but momentum is
building and this change is getting there...

That's OK. I'm a software developer myself and tasks take as long as they take. I just wanted to register my interest in this feature.

    Progress update...

Payments can now be made for multiple bookings in one payment. The enforced payment to confirm a booking isn't done yet though, but will come next. Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks for the update as it's a very useful feature. Looking forward to the completion of the enforced payment.

Thanks for putting in all the work.

    Hi Jo,

Multiple booking is very useful. It requires a lot of clicks though and I don't think everyone will spot the facility to add an attendee after they have booked the first ticket and confirmed their email address.

Would it be possible instead of radio buttons to have drop down quantities on the initial booking screen?

    Thanks,
    David

I did look into that as an option but decided to leave it as it is for the update that introduced this change. Now that you've brought it up though, I will certainly look into it further.

The reason it works as it does now is that each person making or added to a booking currently has to enter all of the required details on the booking form (like phone number and address etc). So changing it so that one person can effectively buy multiple tickets on the initial booking page would have been too much of a change for now.

Thanks for raising this as an issue.

I have added two new FAQ articles to help explain the booking process and statuses:
